About the Writer

Myra Lee Virgil is a memoir writer and essayist based in Bermuda. Her work explores identity, belonging, and lived experience through personal narrative and reflective nonfiction. She is drawn to the quiet complexities of interior life and the ways memory shapes how we understand ourselves.

Her writing has appeared in literary journals and has received early recognition, including a Commonwealth Prize long-listing and finalist placement for the Fiddlehead Creative Nonfiction Prize. She has also spoken publicly on storytelling and purpose, including on the TEDx stage.

Alongside shorter published works, she is shaping a memoir in progress that draws on themes of identity, movement, and personal reckoning.
